FAQS These are the answers to some commonly asked questions:
1. Classes are one (1) hour in length, coming once a week for the number of
consecutive weeks indicated for your class. i.e. Puppy class is six
(6) weeks, so six (6) consecutive weeks. 2. On the first night you will need; Your dog/puppy, whatever leash or collar you now have.
Arrive approximately 15 minutes prior to the start time to get "checked in"
and pay any balance due on the class fee. 3.The first night will have information on which collars and leashes work best and why. If you don’t have a
collar or leash, we recommend a buckle collar and a leather leash of necessary length to fit you and your dog. We have collars and leashes for sale at the school for very reasonable prices. NO Harnesses, clickers, head halter type devices
or chain leashes are allowed for training. 4. Treats are not necessary on the first night,
(unless your dog has special dietary needs), as the types and proper use will be explained.
5. If you have children under 12 years of age that you wish to bring, they must be accompanied by an adult
not in the training class. For safety, we can’t allow children the
"free run" of the facility or to approach other dogs/puppies without proper
guidance. Safety for your child and the dogs is our main concern. If you do
bring a child under these rules and they become "disruptive" the adult in
charge of the child will have to remove the child from the facility. It is
recommended that children under six (6) years of age not attend as they
become bored easily and may become disruptive. 6. If you wish one of your children to handle the dog/puppy in class, they must be physically capable of controlling the dog/puppy.
Under no circumstances will children under 12 years old be allowed to handle
a dog/puppy in class without prior approval or under the direction of
an instructor for training purposes. However, we do recommend that
the entire family attend to get the information first hand, keeping in mind
the conditions in #5 above. presented. |
